伊索寓言（中英）两则小故事

初始骆驼（Initial Camel）

人们初次见到骆驼，对这样的庞然大物都感到恐惧和震惊，纷纷逃走。过了一些日子，人们发现骆驼性情温和，便敢于接近它了。不久以后，人们又认识到这种动物一点脾气也没有，就瞧不起它，给它套上辔头，叫孩子们牵着走。

寓意：它主要告诉我们，不论干什么事都要符合客观实际情况，不要做一些违背自然规律的事，否则后果将会出乎你的意料之外，甚至受到严厉的惩罚。

When people first saw camels, they were frightened and shocked by such giants and fled one after another. After a few days, people found that the camel was gentle, so they dared to approach it. Soon after, people realized that the animal had no temper at all, so they looked down on it, put a bridle on it and asked the children to lead it away.

Moral: it mainly tells us that no matter what we do, we should conform to the objective actual situation and don't do anything contrary to the laws of nature, otherwise the consequences will be unexpected and even severely punished.

两只屎壳郎（Two dung beetles）

一个小岛上放养着一头牛，有两只屎壳郎靠吃牛粪而生活。冬季来临，一只屎壳郎对另一只说，他想立刻飞到大陆去过冬，让那只单独留在岛上，这样食物就足够充饥了。他还说，如果他发现丰富的食物，将带些回来。他飞到了大陆，发现有许多牛粪，还是稀的，就在那里停留下来过冬。冬天一晃就过去了，他又飞回到岛上。另一只屎壳郎看见他浑身油光发亮，长得又肥又壮，便责怪他不履行诺言，什么都没有带回来。他答道：“你不要责怪我，去责备那地方的自然条件吧，因为只可以在那里吃，一点也不能带回来。”

寓意：是说不讲信用的朋友是不可信赖的。

There is a cow on an island. There are two dung beetles who live by eating cow dung. When winter came, one dung beetle said to the other that he wanted to fly to the mainland for winter immediately and leave the one alone on the island, so that the food would be enough to satisfy his hunger. He also said that if he found rich food, he would bring some back. He flew to the mainland and found a lot of cow dung, which was still thin. He stayed there for the winter. Winter passed quickly, and he flew back to the island. Another dung beetle saw that he was shiny, fat and strong, so he blamed him for not fulfilling his promise and didn't bring anything back. He replied, "don't blame me, blame the natural conditions of that place, because you can only eat there and can't bring it back at all."

Moral: it means that a friend who is not trustworthy is not trustworthy.
