螃蟹和狐狸(Crab and fox)

一只螃蟹离开海水，独自住在海岸边。有只饥饿的狐狸正愁没有吃的，看见他后，便跑过去捉住了他。蟹在将要被狐狸吞食之前，说：“，说：“我真是活该!我本应该生活在大海里，却偏要到陆上来。”

寓意：有些人抛弃自己熟知的事情，而去做一无所知的事，结果遇到了不幸。

A crab left the sea and lived alone on the coast. A hungry fox was worried about having nothing to eat. When he saw him, he ran to catch him. Before being swallowed by the fox, the crab said, "I deserve it! I should have lived in the sea, but I had to come to land."

Moral: some people abandon what they know and do what they know nothing. As a result, they encounter misfortune.

核桃树（Walnut tree）

有棵核桃树生在路旁，结了很多核桃，路过的人们都用石头去打树上的果实。核桃树暗自叹息，自言自语:“我真倒霉，每年我给人们带来了果实却为自己招来许多侮辱与苦恼。”

寓意：适用那些因自己行善而吃苦的人们。

There is a walnut tree growing on the roadside and bearing a lot of walnuts. People passing by use stones to hit the fruit on the tree. The walnut tree sighed and said to himself, "I'm really unlucky. Every year I bring fruit to people, but I bring a lot of insult and distress to myself."

Moral: for those who suffer because of their good deeds.

河狸（Beaver）

河狸是生活在水中的四足动物。据说它的阴部可用于治疗某种病，因此人们一看见它就追赶，要捉住它，割下它的阴部来。海狸知道被追赶的原因，便靠腿的力量竭力逃生，以保护自己的身体。每到它要被捉住时，它便把自己的阴部撕下来，抛出去，这样就能保全自己的生命。

寓意:聪明的人宁愿抛弃财富，以保全自己的生命。

Beavers are quadrupeds that live in water. It is said that its genitals can be used to treat certain diseases, so people chase after it as soon as they see it, catch it and cut off its genitals. Knowing the reason for being chased, the beaver tried his best to escape by the strength of his legs to protect his body. When it was about to be caught, it tore off its genitals and threw them out, so that it could save its life.

Moral: a wise man would rather abandon wealth to save his life.
