(Raven and Hermes)

A crow was caught in a bird trap. He prayed to Apollo that if he could escape, he would offer valuables. Apollo saved him, but he forgot his wish. Soon, he was caught in a bird trap again. He dared not ask Apollo any more, so he had to make a wish to Hermes. Hermes said to him, "you bad thing, how can I believe you when you betray and deceive others?"

Moral: when those ungrateful people encounter disaster, no one will save them.

(Crow and snake)

The crow could not find food. When he saw a snake lying in the sun, he swooped down and caught him. The snake turned back and bit him. On his deathbed, the crow said, "I'm so unfortunate. I found this unexpected wealth and died."

Moral: a person who finds treasure and risks his life.
