Datong University,

I love you

In China, there is a city called Datong. In Datong, there is an institution of higher learning known as Datong University.

在中国，有一个城市名为大同；在大同，有一所高校——大同大学。

Situated near the Wenying Lake, a famous beauty spot, Datong University originated from Yanbei Teachers’ College, which was founded in 1958.

大同大学位于妇孺皆知的景点文瀛湖畔，前身是雁北师范学院，1958年成立。

The campus is pided into two areas by the Xingyun Street, stretching from East to West. Students use two underground passages to get around the campus.

整个学校被东西走向的兴云街分作两个区域，学生穿过地下通道，可以抵达学校的每一个角落。

The passages are decorated elegantly. You can see calligraphic works,photographic works and works of drawing.

地下通道装饰优雅，陈列着书法作品、摄影作品和绘画作品。

The most charming place is the Lotus Lake, surrounded by the music studies school, the Auyu service center, the Tianxiang gymnaism and dormitory buildings.

最赏心悦目的地方是荷花湖，周围环绕着音乐学院，奥宇服务中心，天翔体育馆和学生宿舍。

Happily and excitedly ducks swim in the lake, covered with green lotus leaves.

无忧无虑，欢欢喜喜，鸭子在湖里游来游去。湖水掩藏在绿色的荷叶之下。

This sight reminds me of an essay written by Zhu Ziqing, a well-known Chinese author. The title of the essay is The Lotus Lake in Moonlight.

此情此景，让我想起著名中国作家朱自清的散文《荷塘月色》。

Far away from the downtown, Datong University keeps out of it various temptations,such as commercial advertisements and promoting activities. Boys and girls have no choice but to read, think and write from morning till night.

远离喧嚣的闹市区，大同大学把各种诱惑挡在门外，如商业广告宣传，商品促销活动。

The newly-built libarary looks like an eagle. Students enjoy stay here,either searching for books they are supposed to read or do their assighnments which benefit them a great deal.

新建的图书大厦恰似雄鹰展翅。学生喜欢呆在这儿，搜寻该读的书或完成受益匪浅的作业。

The Hawaii sportsground is beautiful, similiar to a blue sea. I like the slogon: Challenge yourself and break through maximum.

夏威夷操场美丽多姿，类似一片蔚蓝的海洋。我喜欢那里的标语口号：挑战自我，突破极限！

Students come from different parts of the country. They are attracted byits excellent academic atmosphere. All people, whether men or women, young orold, devote themselves to teaching and obtaining knowledge for the good of the society.

As far as the number of teachers and students, Datong University ranksfirst within the province.

就学生数量而言，大同大学位居全省第一。

It seems to be a harbor while students seem to be a ship. It’s safer fora ship to stay in a large harbor.

大同像一个码头，学生好比一艘轮船。停船要靠大码头。
