埃隆·马斯克：别人工作50小时，你就工作100小时

众所周知，富豪都喜欢住豪宅。在世界各地投资购置房产，多香啊，坐着等它升值就能赚钱，哪天工作累了出去游玩还有地方住。

但是有一个硅谷大佬却反其道而行之。他卖了自己名下所有房子，然后在外租房子住。。。

这个人就是埃隆·马斯克。不知道这个人，那你总知道Space X吧？不知道SpaceX，那你总知道特斯拉吧？是的，他就是美国太空探索技术公司SpaceX与美国电动汽车及能源公司特斯拉（Tesla）的CEO。

身兼这两个知名公司CEO的埃隆·马斯克，说：“我要解决人类的生存问题。” 格局真大，脑洞也大，这也不奇怪他为什么要卖掉所有房产而出去租房了。但不得不承认，他的确很牛。

Space X公司在他的带领下实力十分强悍，早在去年美国时间5月30日，Space X实现了首次民营商业公司载人航天，首次一级火箭成功回收。

而特斯拉，就不用多说了吧，其创业团队主要来自硅谷，不同于传统的汽车厂商思路，他们是用IT理念来造汽车的，公司口号是“加速世界向可持续能源的转变”。

曾经，埃隆·马斯克2014年在南加州大学商学院做过5分钟毕业演讲，他将自己对工作和人生的思考总结为四个要点：

• 努力工作，别人工作50小时，你就工作100小时；

• 和自己尊敬的人一起工作，向他们学习；

• 不要人云亦云，做事专注于重点；

• 趁着年轻还不用承担责任时，去冒险吧，做自己想做的事！

下面，我们就来详细看看吧：

I think these are pretty important ones. So I’m going to make it sound like, well, you’ve heard of it before, but it’s worth reemphasizing.

我觉得这些都非常重要。也许你们会觉得有些你们原来听过，不过我认为强调一下还是值得的。

The first is you need to work, depending on how well you want to do, particularly if you’re starting a company, you need to work super hard. So what does super hard mean？Well, when my brother and I was starting up our first company, instead of getting an apartment, we just rented a small office and we slept on the couch, and we showed at the YMCA. We’re so hard up. We had just one computer. The website was up during the day, and I was coding at night, seven days a week, all the time. And I briefly had a girlfriend at that period and in order to be with me, she had to sleep in the office.

首先，你需要努力工作，取决于你想做到多好，特别是对于创业者，你需要超级努力地工作。超级努力是什么意思呢？我弟弟和我一起开创第一家公司的时候，我们租不起公寓，只租了一间小办公室，我们都睡在沙发上，在基督教青年会的澡堂洗澡。我们太穷了，所以只买了一台电脑。网站白天运行，而我就在晚上写代码，一周一天，从不间断。这段时间我短暂地交过一位女朋友，为了和我在一起，她也不得不睡办公室。

So I work hard like at every waking hour, that’s the thing I would say particularly if you are starting a company. And if you do simple math, say like if somebody else is working 50 hours, and you’re working 100, you’ll get twice as much done in the course of a year as the other company.

我工作努力到了只要醒着就在工作的程度。对于那些想要创业的人，这就是我的特别建议。你可以简单算算，如果别人工作50小时，而你工作100小时，那么你公司在一年之内做的事，肯定会比别人公司多一倍。

The other thing I’ll say is that if you’re creating a company or if you’re joining a company, the most important thing is to attract great people. So either join a group that’s amazing that you respect or if you’re building a company, you’ve got to gather great people. I mean, all the company is a group of people that are gathered together to create a product or service. And so depending upon how talented and hard-working that group is, and the degree to which they are focused cohesively in a good direction that will determine the success of the company. Do everything you can to gather great people if you’re creating a company.

我要说的另外一点是，如果你想要创立公司，或是加入一家公司，最重要的，是要吸引那些厉害的人。如果要加入一个团队，要加入一个让你尊敬的美妙团队，或者如果你准备创立一家公司，就要聚集一群很棒的人。要知道，公司就是一群人聚在一起创造产品或者服务，这群人的本领越大，工作越勤奋，凝聚力越强，目标越明确，公司就越有可能成功。（所以）如果你想创立公司，你就要尽一切可能网罗到最优秀的人。

Then to focus on signal over noise. A lot of companies get confused. They spend money on things that don't actually make the product better. So for example at Tesla, we've never spent any monet on advertising. We put all of the money into R&D and manufacturing and design to try to make the car as good as possible. And I think that's the way to go. For any given company, just keep thinking about are these efforts that people are spending are they resulting in a better product or service if they’re not, stop those efforts.

下一点是“专注于重点、隔离噪音”。很多公司都很糊涂，将钱花到不能用来改进产品的地方。而我想说，在特斯拉，我们从来不花钱做广告。我们把所有的钱都用于研发、制造和设计，尽力让汽车变得更好。我认为公司就该这样。任何公司，在任何时候都需要思考人们花这么多精力做的事，是否能够让产品或服务变得更好？如果不能，就停止那些无畏的尝试。

And then the final thing is don’t just follow the trends. You may have heard me say it’s good to think in terms of the physics approach from first principles, which is rather than reasoning by analogy you boil things down to the most fundamental truths you can imagine and you reason up from there. This is a good way to figure out if something really make sense or it’s just whatever somebody else is doing. It is hard to think that way. You can’t think that way about everything. It takes a lot of effort, but if you’re trying to do something new, it’s the best way to think. And that framework was developed by physicists to figure out counterintuitive things like quantum mechanics. It’s really a powerful method.

最后我要讲的是不要人云亦云。你可能听我说过我认为好的思考方式是从基本原理出发的物理分析方法，也就是说不要人云亦云。你分析事情时应该要透过表象看到内在逻辑、从根本出发进行推理，这样你才能很好地判断某个想法是否真的行得通，而不只是别人说可行那就可行。当然，这是很难的，你不能什么事情都这样考虑，这需要很多精力。但是在创新的时候，这无疑是最好的思维方式。物理学界也正是通过这种方式推导出了各种不可思议的理论，例如量子力学，这无疑是一个很强有力的说法。

And so that’s, and then I think there’s a final thing I will encourage you to do. Now is the time to take risk. You don’t have kids. Your obligation... oh, sorry. Probably not, of course, but as you get older, your obligations increase. And once you have a family, you start taking not just for yourself but for your family as well. It gets much harder to do things that might not work out. So now it’s the time to do that before you have those obligations before you have those obligations. So I want to encourage you to take risks now and to do something bold. You won’t regret it. Thank you.

我想，我最后还有一点建议要讲出来鼓励大家，那就是趁着年轻，去冒险吧！你们没有小孩，你们的责任...哦，抱歉！也许有人已经有孩子了。随着年龄的增长，责任也会随之增长，有了家庭之后再去冒险，承担风险的就不是你一个人而是你全家。要去冒险做一些可能成不了的事难度可能会更大。在没有这些责任之前，做这样的事负担会比较小，所以我鼓励大家去冒险，胆子放大一些，将来你不会后悔的。谢谢！
