东加勒比1986年版25分硬币（收于2021年）东加勒比全称东加勒比国家组织。现有7个正式成员国：安提瓜和巴布达、多米尼克、格林纳达、蒙特塞拉特、圣基茨和尼维斯联邦、圣卢西亚、圣文森特和格林纳丁斯7个正式成员（也是加共体的成员国）和2个非正式成员：安圭拉（英国殖民地，尚未独立）、英属维尔京群岛。都是加勒比地区最小的国家，9个成员的总人口不足60万人。秘书处设在圣卢西亚首都卡斯特里。

在西印度群岛联合体解体后，东加勒比地区分别于1966年和1968年先后成立了西印度群岛协作国部长理事会和东加勒比共同市场；1981年6月18日东加勒比地区7个岛国在圣基兹与尼维斯签署了《巴斯特尔条约》，成立了东加勒比国家组织。

东加勒比国家组织的成立就是为了维护成员国主权及领土完整，协助成员国处理国际事务，能在本地区和国际事务上发挥更多的作用，促进成员国经济一体化，拥有更大的力量维护本地区成员国的利益。成员国中，安提瓜和巴布达、多米尼克和格林纳达与中国建立了外交关系；圣卢西亚、圣基茨与尼维斯、圣文森特和格林纳丁斯是台湾地区在东加勒比地区的三个所谓"邦交国"。

东加勒比国家组织各国社会经济发展程度相似，经济结构基本上都以旅游业、农业和少量的加工业为主。各国不单独建立军队，而是共同建立一支维和部队，在某一成员国出现突发事件时，经各国同意，才参加维和行动。

There are 7 full members: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (also a member of CARICOM) and 2 informal members: Anguilla (British colony, not yet independent) and British Virgin Islands. They are the smallest countries in the Caribbean, with a total population of less than 600,000 people in nine members. The secretariat is located in Castries, the capital of Saint Lucia.

After the disintegration of the West Indies Consortium, the Council of Ministers of the West Indies Collaborative Countries and the Eastern Caribbean Common Market were established in the Eastern Caribbean in 1966 and 1968 respectively. On June 18, 1981, seven island countries in the Eastern Caribbean signed the Bastel Treaty in St. Kitts and Nevis, and established the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States.

The purpose of the establishment of OECS is to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of member States, assist member States in handling international affairs, play more roles in regional and international affairs, promote economic integration of member States, and have greater power to safeguard the interests of member States in the region. Among the member States, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and Grenada have established diplomatic relations with China; Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are three so-called "diplomatic countries" of Taiwan Province in the Eastern Caribbean.

The countries of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States have similar social and economic development, with tourism, agriculture and a small number of processing industries as the main economic structures. Countries do not set up their own armies, but jointly set up a peacekeeping force. When an emergency occurs in a member state, they can only participate in peacekeeping operations with the consent of all countries.
