湖南的辣椒品种众多,其中最出名的是13个国家地理标志辣椒产品,今天我们要讲的就是其中之一——醴陵玻璃椒。

为什么叫玻璃椒?

许多人都对此感到疑惑。

A lot of people are wondering.

这是因为在辣椒成熟晒干后,可以清晰看到内部胎座和种籽的带柄伏椒果,光滑透明如玻璃。

This is because after the peppers are ripe and dried, the inner placuses and seeds of the stalked fruit can be clearly seen, smooth and transparent as glass.

传说八仙中的铁拐李喜欢吃辣椒,一次云游路过醴陵,将吃剩的辣椒蒂子随手一扔,掉到贺家桥镇培贤村,椒蒂上附带的一粒种子生根发芽,就有了这醴陵玻璃椒。

据《醴陵县志》记载,醴陵玻璃椒自清光绪年间引入,距今已有一百多年历史。

According to the records of Liling County, glass pepper has been introduced since the reign of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 100 years.

在姚武飞所撰写的《醴陵三辣》中,醴陵玻璃椒与生姜、大蒜并列“三辣”。

辣椒筒子炒焙肉、小炒肉、炒粉甚至姆妈早起撒上辣椒粉的红米饭……

2018年2月12日,原中华人民共和国农业部正式批准对“醴陵玻璃椒”实施农产品地理标志登记保护。

On February 12, 2018, the former Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China officially approved the registration and protection of geographical indications of agricultural products for "Liling Glass Pepper".

现今,醴陵玻璃椒成为醴陵市的特色产业,在脱贫攻坚中发挥实效,依靠它,当地居民的日子越过越红火。

Nowadays, Liling glass pepper has become a special industry in Liling City, playing an effective role in poverty alleviation, relying on it, the life of local residents has become more and more prosperous.
