孔雀东南飞 Southeast Fly the Peacocks

担任山东大学校长多年的陆侃如教授，年轻时留学法国。

1935年博士论文答辩会上，一位“隆目深眼”的洋考官提出一个刁钻古怪的问题：“‘孔雀东南飞’，为什么不往西北飞？”人们无不面面相觑、脸色愕然。

“孔雀东南飞”用的是比兴手法，与内容没有必然联系，简直让人无法回答？

但是“方额秀目”的陆先生稍一思索，即朗声答曰：“因为‘西北有高楼’。”

“西北有高楼，上与浮云齐！”这答案出自《古诗十九首》。
