Follow a basic career plan. In your 20s, find a good boss to learn from. In your 30s, branch out and do something you're good at in your 40s. While you're strong in your 50s, focus on passing on your skills to the next generation.

Don't fear rejection. Jack Ma himself lost a chance at a good job because he was less good-looking and shorter than other applicants. That doesn't mean you aren't going to be successful. You just have to keep trying to find what you're good at.

One of Jack Ma's most famously quoted pieces of advice, he says that being an entrepreneur is very difficult today, even more difficult tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow is beautiful. Most entrepreneurs give up tomorrow evening. You have to work hard and learn from hardships. There's no other way.
