冒号和分号
正确使用冒号（:）和分号（;）对于清晰的表达十分重要。

冒号
冒号用于一系列事物的介绍、内容的引用或者是解释。

分号
分号用于将一个长句子拆分成相关的两部分，还用于将多词词组用列表表示以避免混淆。

示例

Although graphene-based electronics are still a possibility in the future: short term applications include battery parts and field emitters. 【错误】

An example of the compound can be found at: http://bit.co.jp/net 【正确】

Two metals were used; titanium due to its conductivity properties, magnesium for its tensile strength. 【错误】

当使用分号拆分句子时，确保一句话中仅使用一次。

分号不能取代逗号（,） 或句号（.）。

分号后面的句首需小写。
