April 23 this year is the 28th World Book Day.

Do you know the inspiration for World Book Day is from a beautiful tale? April 23rd is Saint George's Day in Catalonia, Spain. George, the warrior, defeated the evil dragon in the deep mountains and rescued the trapped princess by himself. The princess gave him a book in return. From then on, books became a symbol of courage and strength. Later, on this day, people will buy roses for their lovers and give a book to their children. Hence, it gradually evolved into a book reading day.

Every year on this day, hundreds of countries in the world will hold all kinds of celebrations and activities to promote book reading. A series of public benefit activities such as "Passing Books" were also held in Hunan, so that books could complete a drifting journey with the collision of souls.

Nowadays, people used to acquire information and knowledge in fragments. In order to enrich more reading experiences, traditional bookstores have also begun to transform, turning a single reading space into a cultural life space combined with cultural creation and coffee shops, which are loved by more and more readers. In recent years, Hunan Province has continuously promoted "national reading" and built a "scholarly Hunan" to spread the seeds of reading to everyone's heart.

每年的这一天，世界百余个国家都会举办各种各样的庆祝和图书宣传活动。在湖南也举办了一系列类似于“公益漂流书”的活动，让书随着灵魂碰撞完成一场漂流之旅。

当今时代，人们习惯于碎片化获取信息和知识。为了丰富更多的阅读体验，传统书店也开始逐步转型，将单一的阅读空间变成了与文创、咖啡店等结合的文化生活空间，受到越来越多读者的喜爱。近年来湖南省不断推广“全民阅读”，建设“书香湖南”，将阅读的种子播撒到每个人心中。

阅读，是快节奏下的慢调，是高效城市里的温暖力量。它不一定会让你功成名就，但足以让你也能活得辽阔。阅读，是在他人经历的时间跨度里，感受不一样的人生。
