What Would Happen if There Were No Power

Ever since early this century, electricity has become an essential part of our modern life. Almost all the activities of human beings depend on① this kind of power. We need electricity to run our machines, to light lamps in the evening, and to cook meals. The electricity is necessary for both industry and agriculture. Even a lot of entertainments, such as TV, record player and film, need electricity. We will not hesitate to say② that the development of our society depends on electricity.

If there were no electricity power, the world will be a different one. First of all③, almost all the machines had to stop running and we had to live in darkness; and we couldn’t play or work .The development of our modern life had to slow or even pause.

Therefore, a modern society without electric power is unimaginable. The electric power helped us to develop at a fast speed④ before, and it will certainly help our society to go ahead⑤ in future⑥. .So we can say that electricity to our modern life is what the blood to our body. It is vitally important.
