线上聊天有无数种“打开方式”，其中最具代表性的就是各类“表情包”。

在恰当的时候使用表情包，可以缓解尴尬，增强聊天趣味性。

遇到自己喜欢的表情包时，我们也会下意识地将其“收入囊中”。

表情包给人带来方便之余，也会带来不少让人啼笑皆非的误解。

孟菲斯大学教授罗杰·克罗伊茨在研究中发现，同一篇推特贴文可以在不搭配表情包时获得更好的传播效果。

研究人员发现，在使用特定表情后反而会给读者造成更多的混淆。

Roger Kreutz, a professor at the University of Memphis, found in a recent study that the same tweet can achieve better communication effects when not using emoji expressions. The researchers found that using certain emojis caused more confusion for readers.

研究人员提醒，有时我们可能会高估表情包带来的沟通效果。

“表情包代沟”现象背后的深层次原因是以自我为中心的偏见，这让别人难以轻易理解我们的所思所写。

Study calls attention to an even more fundamental problem lurking in the background: an egocentric bias that blinds us to how easily others might understand what we think and write.

最重要的是，表情包无法取代面对面交流时眼神的流露和细微表情的变化。

表情包应作为一种调料，为我们的文字增添“味道”，而不是取代文字。

The most important thing is that emoticons cannot replace the expression of eyes and subtle changes in face-to-face communication. Emoticons should be used as a seasoning to add "flavor" to our words, not to replace the emotions in the words.

如何找到表情包表达和情绪表达之间的平衡，这值得我们进一步思考。
