捕鱼业的发展对英语习语的影响

英国是岛国，周边为海水，河流众多，渔业资源自然丰富。捕鱼业也就很发达。捕鱼为生的人多，语言也就是受到渔业的影响。由此产生了很多跟fish有关的词语、短语及谚语等等。

我们可以用fish来形容人。比如：cool fish厚脸皮的人；dull fish枯燥无味的人；big fish大亨；poor fish愚蠢而又可怜的家伙。

shy fish羞怯的人；old/queer/strange fish怪人，莫名其妙的家伙；loose fish放荡的人，浪子；fresh fish新囚犯。
