First, how do you define “filthy”? Do you mean just generally dirty, like trash, dirt, etc.? I can only assume that you mean this.

So no, China is not the filthiest country on the planet. Some parts of China we must admit are dirty, like many public toilets. But Chinese people inpidually tend to be obsessed with cleaning. The average tiny Chinese apartment is cluttered with useful things, but it is NOT dirty. Chinese people are constantly wiping, mopping, sweeping, etc.

中国不是世界上最脏的国家。我们得承认中国一些地方很脏，如公厕。但中国人个人往往执着于干净。中国普通的小公寓里堆满了有用的东西，但并不脏。中国人不断地擦拭、拖地、扫地等。

I think that India is much filthier than China. I do not mean to sound unkind to India, because I think it is a great country and Indian people are very nice. We have to be honest, though, and admit that Indian public spaces are dirtier than those in China.

Most cities in China, big or small are very clean , much cleaner than some big towns in America or some European counties . I have never been to India , so I don't know if like so many people stated India is filthy and dirty, but I do know many families in India don't have toilet rooms . What I know is that Los Angeles downtown is very filthy. there are many homeless people living on the streets , they urinate and loosen their bowels (大便）on the streets, and the government didn't do anything about it. I know NYC is also dirty . I just don’t understand why these are tolerated by the cities ? LA wanted to be host city for 2024 Olympia Games ? they want people of the world come to see these ? I never go to LA downtown ! It’s like a hell.

I lead a group of twelve university students on a study abroad program to five cities in China earlier this summer. In their final reflection papers just about every student commented about the cleanliness of the cities. Many of the students were from the New York City area and they said Chinese cities are much cleaner than New York. I agree that India may be the dirtiest country.
